WILD IRISHMAN

Wine pioneer and legend Alan Brady has the reputation of being the only person (crazy enough, says he) to have built two wineries in the Central Otago region.
He established Gibbston Valley Wines and introduced Valli Wines' Grant Taylor as its first winemaker and then much later, Mount Edward.

Having unsuccessfully "retired" in 2005, Alan continues to indulge his passion for pinot noir with the stunning boutique label he co-owns with Brian Shaw, called 'Wild Irishman'. Drawing on Alan's imitable Central Otago wisdom and Brian's drive and passion, this wine has all the purity, nuance and panache that you'd expect from these two talented gentlemen.
Brian is an enology graduate from Plumpton College in England with winemaking experience in Australia, England and of course at Wild Irishman.  He has extensive experience in the wine retail sector here and in the UK and is passionate about Central Otago and Pinot Noir.

'Wild Irishman' is an apt name for wine produced by these two Irish storytellers, as well as being another name for matagouri, the prickly plant often seen around Central Otago's hills...

Kinross is the exclusive NZ stockist for Wild Irishman Wines. Wild Irishman Wines are only available to our Wine Club members and sells out within months of release each vintage. Pre-order is available, please do enquire.
