This Crémant de Bourgogne has a lovely golden hue, with fine, satiny bubbles. The nose is powerful and refined, with a delicate palate of yellow stonefruits. The richness of yellow plum jumps out and the freshness of white peach at the finish. The mouth is drier yet elegant, much in the same way as a Pinot Noir.
The term 'Crémant de Bourgogne' means the fruit is all coming from a specific area, Burgundy (France).
The term 'Blanc de Noirs' means that it is made from 100% Pinot noir grapes (from Côte de Beaune).
The term 'Brut' means that the Residual Sugar ('RS') is less than 10g/l, at 6g/l.
Closure: Diam Cork (cork closures free from TCA, molecule responsible for cork taint, and many other molecules responsible for sensory deviations).
Few words about the House, Vitteaut-Alberti:
Since 1951, Crémant Vitteaut-Alberti captures its aromas in the terroir of Burgundy. Situated in Rully, south of Beaune, the Maison Vitteaut-Alberti remains attached to the creation of effervescent wines by the "Méthode Traditionnelle".
It's dry, refreshing and medium bodied with characterful, toasty aromas, reflecting the Pinot Noir grape, and tastes fully sparkling, which is suggestive of high quality winemaking. It's very good quality and value. 17.5/20
Made from 100% Pinot Noir showcasing a charming yet fine balance between a core of fruit and lees autolysis - apple and white peach with a twist of lemon, freshly baked goods of oat-bread and wheat then a mild toasty quality. 93 Points - Excellent.
Bright, pale straw-yellow, slightly lighter edged with fine bubbles and persistent bead. The nose is gently full, fill with aromas of stonefruit, baked toffee apple, cream; unfolding subtle toasted almonds and shortbread. Dry-ish to taste, medium-bodied, aromas of peaches and baked toffee apple has a good core and with purity, entwined with slight toastiness, almonds and fresh-baked shortbread. The wine has a good concentration of fruit flavours, generous and approachable. The palate is creamy yet with balanced freshness by integrated acidity and refreshing mousse, lingering onto a long fruity finish. 93 pts
