The Kinross vineyard in the spectacular Gibbston valley is Wild Irishman's newest single vineyard label. After some years of neglect the vines have been nurtered back to full health and vigour by new owners Christine and John Erkkila and viticulturist Gary Crabbe.
Thanks to them, we can now explore the vineyard's exciting potential and to honor the pioneering spirit of Scottish settler Thomas Kinross who farmed this land 150 years ago. He didn't grow grapes but Pinot Noir is now thriving on the fine sandy loams which once produced vegetables to feed the goldmines.
Minimal winemaking intervention is part of the process which will allow the wines to define the character and essence of this site.
100% destemmed, fermented in small stainless steel fermenters, using natural indigenous yeasts.
Only 260 cases and 40 magnums produced.
